This creative workshop explores the art of faux calligraphy techniques; a technique to imitate the style of modern calligraphy but using everyday pens. We will use this technique to create a festive slate sign.

The workshop begins with letter form practice, understanding how to create modern script and a font that is pleasing to you.

We will then use these skills to create your own festive wording and design on either a heart-shaped or rectangular slate sign. You might like to use this as a decoration in your home or as a gift for someone special.

Once you’ve mastered this technique, you will be able to apply this to other tricky surfaces, for example, wood, glass and mirrors.

All materials are provided and will be take home your festive sign creation. Additional materials will be available to purchase on the day.

This workshop is suitable for complete lettering beginners.
